If you have a passion for working with youth groups, first aid or fundraising, St John Ambulance could need you!
On Thursday 28th May, St John Ambulance are holding an open evening to give people of Newport and the surrounding areas a greater insight into the lifesaving work that they do. At the open evening, people will be able to find out about the work St John Ambulance do and how they can get involved, whether as a qualified first aider, a volunteer in the community or a youth leader.
The first aid charity will also be using the open evening to encourage young people in the community to join their youth groups: Badgers, (for five to ten year olds) and Cadets (for ten to 18 year olds).
Newport unit manager, Kate Dann-Welstead, said: "St John Ambulance gives you the chance to learn new skills, make new friends and get involved in doing something really positive for your community.
Many people assume the only positions within our charity are as first aiders; however, we have much more to offer and through this evening we hope to recruit people to support roles such as youth leaders and fundraisers, as well as find people to fill those vital first aider roles.”
If you’re interested in finding out more about St John Ambulance and getting involved with their great work, come along to their open evening at 7pm this Thursday, at St John Ambulance, 12 Manners View, Donor Industrial Estate.
