Heart of the Island for events...
Newport is a busy, thriving town throughout the year and hosts a number of small, regular community events alongside much larger events such as the internationally renowned Isle of Wight music Festival.
The weekly Farmers' Markets held in St Thomas Square offer a chance to find a range of quality products including fresh, seasonal fruit and vegetables, local honey, home baked bread, award-winning cheese, quality meats, homemade cakes, delightful flowers, and many more Island offerings.
On the other end of the events scale, the iconic Isle of Wight Festival is held at Seaclose Park in Newport every year and has headline music acts such as The Stone Roses, Bon Jovi and The Killers to name just a few. Thousands of people flock to Newport to enjoy the music and the town is a hive of activity.
The summer Newport carnival is one of the most popular on the Isle of Wight and takes place in July every year. There are a whole range of other events that take place throughout the year including Newport Jazz Festival, Riverfest, and the Newport Old Tyme Fayre.
